So I went for it after I purchased the 42 shibori squares which I posted about last week, and created this window covering for the door to my back patio. The second photo shows how it seemed to glow when the light came in the next morning.
I looked back through my photos and found the pics of when I tried shibori this past October. The photos start with the fabric wrapped around pvc pipe, then show the dye bath and the finished pieces.
I remember the best part was undoing the fabric after the dyeing was done and revealing the pattern. I don’t know if I’d do it again, but it gave me new appreciation for the process and the work involved in creating the gorgeous patterns I was enjoying while working on that window covering quilt.
If you’ve done shibori dyeing and want to share some photos, that would be great!
