Recently I wanted to use up some Kaffe Fasset fabrics and I decided to combine them with some bright solids leftover from another project. Making flying geese units is easy so away I went and ended up with this arty piece, about 21 inches square. I took a trip back to the past and hand quilted it! I can’t remember the last time I did that, altho my quilt maker beginnings were all about hand quilting back in the late 1980’s.
Well my hands aren’t as nimble as they once were, no surprise there. But I managed to finish hand quilting this one and do love the look after it’s finished. Looks great both as a table topper and a wall quilt if desired. I don’t imagine I’ll be hand quilting large pieces again, but there was a time I did that exclusively, and it would take months to complete a bed quilt. But, after multiple washings, they are still my favorites!
